One Future Post: Volume 4
This volume encourages the reader to revisit their childhood and explore what reconciliation can look like by holding those experiences with the language we now have as adults.
Curator Speaks
Through this piece, the curator delves into the various ways of growing up by revisiting their own experiences that made them afraid that they were performing childhood ‘wrong’. The piece also explores joy- the joy of growing older and realising that there really is no script or ‘right’ way to grow up and that you can offer yourself the care, patience and kindness that others didn’t. Learning curves then don’t signify failure but rather symbolise living itself.
The talented Anushka Nagarmath has curated this volume of One Future Post. Anushka is a poet and writer whose work mostly revolves around themes of childhood, family, queerness and friendship. At the centre of their writing is the question of forgiveness. When they're taking a break from writing, they love reading fanfiction, listening to music by their favourite band and watching any cute gay web series (and rambling about any of these in detail if you let them)

DIY activity
Divide your life in 5 year periods and meditate on all the significant things from each period.
Grab a few pieces of paper (or do this on your laptop) and start curating each of these items as if they were museum pieces. You can draw each item or cut out pictures from magazines or childhood books. List the name of each exhibit and its significance in that period of your life. You can color, doodle in the margins, decorate your museum in whatever way you like.Â
Try to engage with certain memories that come up and reflect on how even if certain things have changed across the years, they still remain special to you in some previous part of your life.Â

(Curator’s note: The decision to choose this activity was also influenced by another museum-based writing prompt I did in a writing workshop led by poet Sally Wen Mao.)
